TITLE: Watercraft Inspector-4 Contract Positions
LOCATION: March 1 to April 15 the station will be located at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.
April 16 until the end of the season (not determined) the station will be located in Ravalli.
WORK SCHEDULE: 7 days a week, 8am to 6pm
SALARY: $13.03 per hour
CLOSING DATE: Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
This is not a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period.
Watercraft Inspectors will work with the CSKT Natural Resources Department to prevent the introduction of aquatic invasive species (AIS) to the region by thoroughly inspecting all watercraft and preventing fouled watercraft from launching before being cleaned. Inspectors will be provided job performance manuals and be responsible to follow the protocols set therein to conduct watercraft user surveys and inspect many different types of watercraft.
The schedules are time spent at the job site during the operating season. Hours are subject to change during the 'off-season' (March 1 to Memorial Day and Labor Day to mid-October) when the station is open for limited hours. Inspection stations will be open 7 days per week.
• Open and close the watercraft inspection station at specified times.
• Thoroughly inspect watercraft in a timely manner.
• Talk with boaters about aquatic invasive species in a friendly manner.
• Distribute educational materials to boaters and the general public.
• Issue Certificates of Inspection.
• Follow instructions in the protocols to correctly fill out data forms.
• Follow detailed Instructions in the manual provided to handle non-compliant boaters and failed inspections.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON THE TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION)
1. Completed Tribal employment application.
