Head Start Teacher Aide- ($11.68 – $13.55)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for preschool caregivers, or be enrolled in a CDA credential program for preschool caregivers that will be completed within 2 years,            
    OR
  • Have an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (in any field) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
  • Have minimum of 6 months documented experience working with pre-school children in a formal early childhood setting such as a head start classroom, childcare center, etc.   (Desired, but not required)
  • Must begin work on Associate’s Degree in early childhood education within first year of hire.    
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.
  • Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center Regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required).

Head Start Teacher Aide-In-Training- ($9.71 – $11.24)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Within 3 months of hire, must enroll in early childhood development classes leading to an AA in early childhood education.    
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.
  • Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required).

Special Services Aide- ($12.78 – $14.84)

  • 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years
    OR
  • have an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in an education or health field or be enrolled   in a program leading to such a degree                 
  • Have minimum of 6 months documented experience working with children with disabilities or behavioral difficulties ages birth to 5 years in a formal early childhood setting such as a head start classroom, childcare center, etc.   (Desired, but not required)
  • Must begin work on Associate’s Degree in early childhood education within first year of hire.    
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.

Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher – ($16.98 – $19.74)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Associate’s Degree  in Early Childhood Education
    OR
  • a degree in a related field and 6 courses in early childhood education including one course in child development
    OR
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant/Toddler Caregivers.   
  • Two (2) years documented experience working with infants and toddlers, ages birth to 3 years in a formal early childhood setting such as an Early Head Start classroom, a childcare facility, etc.
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire.
  • Able to meet/complete requirements for primary caregiver according to Montana Child Care Center Regulations within one (1) year of employment (if required).

Grandparent – ($11.08)

  • Must pass drug test, background check and fingerprinting, (no violence against children or individuals, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any person) upon hire and annually thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe’s Personnel Department.

Headstart & Early Headstart Substitute - ($9.71 – $11.24)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must pass drug test, background check and fingerprinting, (no violence against children or individuals, no domestic violence, no sexual abuse or violent acts against children or any person) upon hire and annually thereafter; subject to random drug testing through the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe’s Personnel Department.
  • Possess current valid Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribes Fleet Policy.
