LOCATION:                    Records Management Department

SALARY:                        $23.00 to $26.44 per hour

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

This position is not a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy.  A favorable determination resulting from a completed Background Investigation is required prior to being placed in this position.  The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period.

This is an Administrative position, responsible for the overall management of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai (CSKT) information, education and training infrastructure, as well as publications and other applicable information within the Records Management Department. Work performance requires specialized training, experience, knowledge, and skill for the execution of assignments and tasks. This position assists the Department Head in establishing information dissemination, education as to the records management policies and procedures and training needed to assist CSKT and vested parties in proper utilization of developed systems.

DUTIES:

• Respond to from CSKT vested stakeholders, Tribal entities, and CSKT department requests for information, data, training and resources; providing authorized information in a timely, manner utilizing the records management database, publications, Intra/internet, and other applicable resources.
• Provide research information to the community to include: news articles, website updates and electronic information, updating as needed.
• Assess the current state of data from information requests and research studies; developing a mechanism for updating data, statistical records, and management plan to make gathering information and disseminating information more efficient and effective.
• Maintain the data computer software program implemented to search and organize data retrieval efforts and gather information for grants and studies.
• Assist the Department Head in developing a list of research priorities for CSKT, and develop strategies for identifying and working with tribal researchers to undertake the research priorities where possible.
• Coordinates with CSKT Department Heads, Directors, and Program Managers to ensure records creation, maintenance, use, and disposition are in accordance with CSKT guidance documents and the Federal Records Act. Promotes effective records management throughout the Tribal organization.
• Attend network meetings, as needed, with CSKT departments/entities (such as Tribal Health and SKC) and other stakeholders to disseminate research information, collect new data on current priorities, and assist with development and implementation of community risk surveys.
• Assist with the development, assessment, and updating of research codes to ensure the types of codes being utilized provide for quantitative data no less than every three years.
• Assist with identifying and coordinating trainings for CSKT Records Review Board (RRB) and to enhance IETO services
• Attend required trainings, webinars, conference calls, etc. to include the National institutional review board (IRB) training
• Establish and maintain a data bases and contact information for the RRB.
• Provide feedback to Department Head regarding Departments and stakeholders on the evaluation of program activities and interpretation of findings. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM RECRUITING QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION):

• Associate degree AND five years verifiable work experience in records management required with preference given for Bachelor's degree,
• Ten years of experience in clerical/administrative oriented experience with five years of increasingly responsible work experience in managing databases or other research responsibilities. Preference will be given for verifiable experience with Indigenous Research. Five years of increasingly responsible work experience in developing data/research tracking for reporting and records management
• Must pass local, state and federal background checks (upon hire and yearly thereafter) and is subject to CSKT Drug and Alcohol Policies.
• Must have valid Montana Driver's License or be able to obtain one within six (6) months.
