TITLE:                            Child & Youth Trauma Services Mental Health Specialist, LCSW

                                      Contract Position

                                     

LOCATION:                    Department of Human Resource Development

                                     

SALARY:                        $30.68 to $35.27 per hour

                                                                           

CLOSING DATE:             Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy.  A favorable determination resulting from a completed Background Investigation is required prior to being placed in this position.  The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period.

Mental Health Specialist will provide support services to children age 3-18 years and their families when necessary, using trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) for program participants (adults/youth/children who have experienced or witnessed trauma).  The incumbent will make referrals as needed.  Incumbent will maintain case notes, and assist with program reporting, and provide case management on an as need basis.  

DUTIES:

  • Provide individual therapy utilizing TF-CBT and support groups.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with participants and will monitor objectives/goals of each individualized treatment plan on a monthly basis.
  • Has the ability/skill to evaluate participant’s progress toward their treatment plan goals and be able to appropriately make changes as needed.
  • Has the ability/skill to be able to decipher the family’s ecosystem and determine services that are not being met through formal and informal systems.
  • Knowledgeable of all programs available to participants in their communities to provide wrap around services.
  • As needed and/or by the direction of the Program Director will provide case management to participants.
  • Has the ability/skill to assist families in problem resolution and is able to communicate orally and in writing clearly and effectively to participants.
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment strategy for engaging family/participants into the program.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of work performed, including documentation of case notes on participants served and progress made.
  • Maintain organized accurate records of participants and staff trained for statistics/data collection.
  • Attend monthly telephone conference calls and scheduled webinars in regard to the grant.
  • Effectively communicate program expectations to program partners and staff.
  • Build, develop, and grow relationships vital to the success of the program.
  • Collect data on participants and all training attended.
  • Conduct program post mortems and create a recommendation report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful program elements.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON THE TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION)

  • Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), OR certified by the State of Montana as a Mental Health Professional Person. - Must have clinical experience in providing cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Must be willing to received training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).
  • Have experience assisting individuals/families with high service needs.
  • Experience in providing group facilitations.
  • Must have a valid Montana Driver’s License.
