TITLE:                                   Tribal Gaming Commissioner –1 vacancy –3 Year Term

                                                To be appointed by the Tribal Council upon successful                                                           completion of background investigation

 

LOCATION:                          CS&KT Gaming Commission

                                               

SALARY:                              Commissioners shall be compensated at a rate to be

                                                established annually by the Tribal Council. 

                                                Commissioners shall be reimbursed for actual

                                                expenses incurred on Commission business,

                                                Including necessary travel expenses.

 

CLOSING DATE:                Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

 

DUTIES:

 

The Commission is responsible for promulgating and regulating gaming activities within the exterior boundaries of the Flathead Reservation pursuant to Tribal Ordinance 92(d), and other duties and functions as required in Ordinance 92(d).

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Must be an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must reside on the Flathead Reservation during the three (3) year term.
  • Knowledge of Tribal, State, and Federal regulations regarding gaming, including but not limited to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) and Tribal Gaming Ordinance 92(d).
  • Shall be of good moral character and reputation and financially responsible.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony or any gaming-related offense, fraud, misrepresentation, or any other crimes or moral turpitude in any context.
  • Applicants cannot serve on the Commission if their employment or responsibilities conflict with or could potentially conflict with the duties and responsibilities required of the Commission.
  • No applicants shall serve on the Gaming Commission if that applicant’s other employment or responsibilities creates an impression of the appearance of impropriety, which includes being a member or officer of the Tribal Council or judge in any Tribal Court.

 

Tribal Council policy adopted in March 2007 states:

 

“An employee of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai who is applying for a board or committee vacancy is required to submit along with the Letter of Interest, a letter signed by the immediate supervisor and the Department Head authorizing the employee to apply for and serve on the board or committee.  Any Tribal employee serving on a board or committee that is not directly related to the position the person holds in the Tribal organization, is required to use leave or leave-without-pay to attend all meetings, participate in any activity associated with the board or committee, or for any travel related to the board or committee.  Tribal employees are restricted to serving on no more than one (1) board at any time.”

Submit a letter of interest (letter of interest must include what the applicant feels they can contribute to the board) and resume that includes educational background, employment history and business experience to Personnel Office , P.O. FAILURE TO SUBMIT ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS
