TITLE:                      Medical Clinician (MD, FNP, DNP, PA-C) (1 or more positions)

LOCATION:             Tribal Health Department (Multiple sites)

SALARY:                  Negotiable, may be employed under contract

CLOSING DATE:    Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. (MST)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Clinician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in accordance with established medical practices, policies, and protocols. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of individuals in our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement patient treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms.
  • Prescribe medications and other appropriate treatments based on patient needs.
  • Provide patient education regarding medical conditions, treatment options, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records/documentation in electronic health record systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to regulatory.
  • Participate in medical education training.
  • Participate in peer review activities or similar activities.
  • Provide treatment for opioid use disorder as a part of primary care. If training not obtained but desired, resources available for training.
  • Provide Telehealth services as directed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON THE TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION):

Active license to practice medicine in the United States and Montana.  Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine for physicians.  Current ACLS Certification at the time of hire.  Current DEA license at the time of hire.  Eligibility for malpractice/liability coverage.

Preference will be given to candidates interested in treating opioid use disorder/Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with suboxone.  Valid Drivers license. As well as the following:

  1. Board Certified Physician
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of residency training program (for Physicians) upon starting employment.
  • Board certification/board eligible in family medicine or internal medicine.

 

  1. Certified Physician Assistant
  • Successful completion of physician assistant school at an accredited school.
  • Successful completion of Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE)

 

  1. Certified Family Nurse Practioner (Master’s degree)
  • Successful completion of family nurse practioner degree at an accredited school.
  • Successful completion of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board exam.

 

  1. Certified Family Nurse Practioner (Doctorate’s degree)
  • Successful completion of family nurse practioner degree at an accredited school.
  • Successful completion of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board exam.

 

SUBMIT:

  1. Completed Tribal employment application.
  2. Copy of academic transcripts, certifications, licensures
  3. Copy of valid driver’s license.
  4. If claiming Tribal Preference, Proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe if not from CSKT.
  5. If claiming veteran’s preference, a copy of the DD214 must be submitted.
