TITLE:                                   Network Technician

LOCATION:                          Information Technology – Pablo, MT

SALARY:                              $22.24 To $ 25.56 including benefits

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

This is not a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a six-month probationary period.

The Network Technician is a technical position in the Information Technology Department that is responsible for providing network support within the Tribes’ information system.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Assist with network equipment and configuration, troubleshooting network problems and maintaining network equipment.
• Troubleshooting system failures and identifying roadblocks in the network while providing on-site assistance to users throughout the organization.
• Scheduling upgrades and maintenance while notifying appropriate parties concerning updates and potential downtime.
• Assist with security equipment installation and setup.
• Assis with infrastructure cabling jobs and repairs for existing and new construction.
• Catalog, monitor, and help maintain the inventory of network elements such as switches, routers, P2P antenna, APs, and cabling.
• Use IT ticketing system to track and work all requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON THE TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION)

• An Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant related degree from an accredited university. OR a Cisco CCNA certification, OR two (2) years’ experience working on and supporting business computing on an enterprise-level, networked environment and six (6) months of specialized experience working with the installation, termination, and troubleshooting of ethernet and/or fiber cabling, OR a Cisco CCST Networking certification and one (1) year of computer support experience supporting business computing in an enterprise-level networked environment.
• Experience with installation, operation and maintenance of networking equipment is desirable.
• Prefer experience with current Microsoft operating systems and hardware/software troubleshooting in a PC/LAN environment.
• Experience with CLI is desirable.
• Experience with Tribal governments/organizations is desirable.
• Skill in written and oral communication highly desired.
• Ability to positively interact with users in providing technical support.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with follow-up and attention to detail.
• Must have and maintain a Montana State driver’s license as condition of employment.
