TITLE:                      Staff Dentist (1 or more positions)

LOCATION:             Tribal Health Department  (St. Ignatius, Polson)

SALARY:                  Negotiable, may be employed under contract

CLOSING DATE:    Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. (MST)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. 

The Staff Dentist makes clinical and radiographic examinations of the oral hard and soft tissues, and diagnosis of pathological or irregular conditions.

The Staff Dentist performs endodontic, prosthodontic, periodontic, pedodontic, operative, preventive and orthodontic services.

The Staff Dentist performs simple, compound, and complex restorations.

The Staff Dentist administers local anesthesia and/or nitrous oxide analgesia.

The Staff Dentist studies results of examinations and determines types of services required and develops an acceptable treatment plan.

The Staff Dentist performs routine and complex tooth extractions and removal of residual root tips.

The Staff Dentist removes localized foreign bodies from gingival tissues and alveolar sockets.

The Staff Dentist performs root canal therapy.

The Staff Dentist treats diseases of salivary glands and their ducts.

The Staff Dentist performs dental care for patients with behavioral problems.

The Staff Dentist informs the patient about good dental health practices.

The Staff Dentist occasionally supervises dental auxiliaries.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON THE TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION):

Must have a degree in dentistry from an accredited school of dentistry.
Must have a state license of dentistry.
Valid Driver’s License.

SUBMIT:

1. Completed Tribal employment application.
2. Copy of academic transcripts, certifications, licensures
3. Copy of valid driver’s license.
4. If claiming Tribal Preference, Proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe if not from CSKT.
5. If claiming veteran’s preference, a copy of the DD214 must be submitted.
