TITLE:                        Utility Board Member – Two (2) Full 3-year term vacancies

                                    To be appointed by the Tribal Council

LOCATION:             Mission Valley Power

                             Pablo MT

SALARY:                Members of the Board shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in                                     attending Board meetings or expended in the performance of its business;                             the amount of such compensation is subject to approval by the CSKT.

CLOSING DATE:     Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. (MST)

DUTIES:

The Utility Board shall provide policy direction to the General Manager and, consistent with the goals and objectives for Tribal management, overall policy guidance to the utility.  As the Contractor, the Tribal Council retains ultimate control and responsibility for ensuring the Tribes' compliance with the terms of the contract.  Tribal Council policy adopted in March 2007 states:

“An employee of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes who is applying for a board or committee vacancy is required to submit along with the Letter of Interest, a letter signed by the immediate supervisor and the Department Head authorizing the employee to apply for and serve on the board or committee.  Any Tribal employee serving on a board or committee that is not directly related to the position the person holds in the Tribal organization, is required to use leave or leave-without-pay to attend all meetings, participate in any activity associated with the board or committee, or for any travel related to the board or committee.  Tribal employees may serve on no more than one (1) board at any time.”

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must reside within the exterior boundaries of the Flathead Reservation and be a consumer of electricity supplied by Mission Valley Power.

These Directors shall have extensive background through education and/or experience in the area of business management to qualify him/her to learn utility business practices and procedures and to make sound business and utility service judgements. 

Term of Office:

Utility Board members shall be appointed for three (3) year terms.
