CSKT ACTIVE FIRE INFORMATION for July 12, 2021

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes have one active fire to date.   Hot and dry conditions will continue this week and the Flathead Indian Reservation has moved to EXTREME fire danger.  Let’s eliminate Human-Caused fires! #BeOutdoorSafe

The King’s Fire is a Type 4 incident located 4 miles southwest of Dixon, MT.

The Little Money2 Fire is a Type 3 incident located 2 miles west of Perma, MT.  The fire is burning in steep & rocky terrain.  The Painted Rocks (Camas 1300 road), Camas 1000 road, and the Camas 2000 roads are closed.

The Jette Fire is a Type 5 human-caused fire and is under investigation.  It is located 4 miles northwest of Polson, MT.

The Flathead River Fire is located 1 mile west of Sloan’s bridge.  This Type 5 fire was caused by fireworks.

The Brown’s Fire is located 8 miles west of Elmo, MT.  This fire was started by haying equipment.  Farmers need to be vigilant when working in their fields.  With the high temperatures and low relative humidities, any type of spark can turn into a wildfire.  Make sure you have a water source close by and cut early in the morning.
