Crooks Fire Update

The Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes Division of Fire would like to inform the public that the Aerial ignition that was performed yesterday on the Crooks Fire went as planned and all fire is within the containment lines. Firefighters will mop up some hot spots along the South Fork Road today. Today will warm and windy and rain is forecasted for Saturday.

Evacuations and Closures: The following area closures are in place:

  • From the 2nd lake at Twin Lakes on St Mary’s Road to the North Fork is closed
  • Main Jocko Road (1000 Rd) is closed at the 3000 Rd junction.
  • The Incident Commander would like the public to know that the main Jocko Road is closed to through traffic. Only local traffic is permitted in the canyon.


No structures are threatened, and no evacuation orders are in effect.
