Tribal Health and Sanders County to Run Free COVID-19 Testing Event

St. Ignatius, Mont. — CSKT Tribal Health and the Sanders County Public Health Department will run a free COVID-19 testing event on July 9, 2020 from 10-2pm at the Hot Springs Rodeo Grounds.

Anyone is welcome to come and get tested.  This event fits into a larger initiative by Montana Governor Steve Bullock to test 60,000 Montanans each month.

There is a free gift card to the first 150 people tested.

The testing event will be a drive-by setup with people arriving and testing while in the comfort of their automobile.  The test consists of a simple nasal swab, and the process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Testing is one of the best tools to keep everyone safe from coronavirus since not everyone who has COVID-19 shows symptoms. Studies suggest that asymptomatic carriers of the coronavirus are more common than once thought.

This test will show if someone is infected. This test is not an antibody test that reveals if someone has ever had the virus. This test shows if someone is currently infected with COVID-19.

Those who are tested will need to provide contact information to receive results. At this time there is no age limit to test.
